Have you encountered problems using the new Blue Hills Genealogical Society website? Our webmaster is hard at work finding bugs and weeding them out, while still uploading great content for members and non-members. In the meantime, this post will list known problems and fixes for them.
1/31/18: Unable to Log In to Members Only Area – This bug is verified to be a problem for at least some Microsoft Edge users. Solutions to the problem are being explored. In the meantime, please e-mail us at BlueHillsGenealogicalSociety@gmail.com with any member document requests you have, and we will do our best to connect you to your resources.
1/26/18: Unable to Open/Download Forms – This bug is verified to be a problem for at least some Microsoft Edge users. Google Chrome is able to access the forms without problems at this time. If you are using Chrome and have any trouble, please e-mail BlueHillsGenealogicalSociety@gmail.com with the error and what version of Chrome you are using. The latest version of Chrome can be found at https://www.google.com/chrome/.
2/09/18: Some Browsers and Security Programs Are Flagging the Site as Suspicious – This is verified, but there is no safety issue to worry about. 🙂 Our current site is very new, as it’s a complete rebuild on a completely different host from the previous Rootsweb website. This issue will resolve itself over time as the site builds reputation, and future users will see no security warnings.
